IWBF AFRICA LAUNCHES 5 REGIONAL QUALIFIERS FOR THE

2023 AFRICA PARA GAMES

As part of its revamped competition strategy, IWBF Africa has announced the launch of the 2023 Africa Para Games Regional Qualifiers. All eligible National Organization for Wheelchair Basketball (NOWBs) were invited to enter teams into these pivotal regional tournaments, which will determine qualification for the Africa Para Games.

Regional Qualifiers Overview

• Southern Region

South Africa will host the Southern Region Qualifiers in Johannesburg from 7–9 April 2023, with Angola and Zambia joining the host nation.

• Central Region

The Democratic Republic of Congo will welcome Cameroon and the Central African Republic for the Central Region Qualifiers in Kinshasa from 21–23 April 2023.

• Eastern Region

Tanzania, an IWBF newcomer, will host the Eastern Region Qualifiers in Dar es Salaam from 5–7 May 2023, where the hosts will compete against neighbouring Kenya.

• Northern Region

Morocco will host Algeria and Senegal in Rabat from 5–7 May 2023 as part of the Northern Region Qualifiers.

• Western Region

Africa Para Games hosts Ghana will take the opportunity to prepare for the main event by hosting Gambia in the Western Zone Tournament from 12–14 May 2023.
